Strong Dog vs. Mutt Mix- what's the difference?
Strong Dog is the first recipe we formulated. It has higher protein, higher fat and lower carbohydrate content, and is especially suitable for active, young dogs. Strong Dog contains raw meaty bones (chicken wings and chicken feet), and so may not be suitable for toy breed dogs, dogs with dental issues, or dogs who swallow their food without a second thought. Strong Dog and was inspired and initially created for my hyperactive young adult mongrel, Kyle.
Mutt Mix is a recipe that's suitable for all adult dogs. It is high in protein and has lower fat content than Strong Dog, making them suitable for dogs with medium to low activity level. Just like Strong Dog, it has lots of variety, containing over 15 fresh ingredients. It doesn't have any whole raw meaty bones in it- we use ground chicken bones, which is easier to eat for for toy dogs or elderly dogs. As there are no whole bones, Strong Dog can be gently cooked up to 100C- some dogs just do not enjoy cold or raw meals, and prefer warm or gently cooked meals. Because of this, Mutt Mix is ideal for dogs who are new to raw feeding.
